we went and done this festival. here is some photos from it and a video, also-ually. it was a good festival, organised by mr VINCE POWERZONE. for those who dont know, VINCE basically invented music festivals, and was the king of reading festival till The Carling Brothers stole it off him years ago. then some other stuff happened and then he invented Hop Farm Festival, which is like all other festivals only without the corporate branding of The Man. (only, by putting his name in front of all his endeavours he sort of turned himself into a corporate brand so its not really true (Oshutup)). anyway, LORD VINCE made this lovely festival where all the food was (almost) reasonable price and it was set in some bizarre wild-west - themed farm of some sorts.  apparently he’s breaking down the traditional barrier between vips and normal festival goers too, tho it’s hard to notice when you spend the weekend eating yr self stupid in vip catering cos the free vip drink has made you all hungry again. anyway, GOD POWERS, yeh, he spent the weekend wishing his flock all the best from a variety of flying contraptions. he’s a bit of a ledge and we’re totes priviledgedified that he asked us to come and play HOP POWERS FESTIVAL 09.

this our dressing room.

photo046

this is the dance tent. where all the indie people go and pretend to be dance people but fail. US TOO! ITS JUST NOISE,MAN!

photo031

this is the secret VIP restaurant. SRSLY! the food was a solid 7/10 but gets a 9 overall for excessive cutlery displays and allowing small birds to fly around the room.

these things are vv unrealistic.

lewes joined our band for a day

thats a pretty sporadic collection of photos yeh. if you came here expecting to see photos of that band we’re all in do a gig in a tent, and words about that, then go here instead. thanks artrocker! tho i’d like to say I AM MISQUOTETH! and actually i called the twangs cover of drinking in la the worst thing ever. i’d post a link but it’d only depress me. twas a fun gig tho. lewes found a picture of vince, spectating from on high:

here are some things also that happened that we didnt take photos of:

we made a circle of tents around our van, it was badass.

kelly went home early sunday cos some guy offered her a topless ride to a better party

we saw loads of terrible big brother people in VIPland, but no akshual celebrities. apart from tim from ash, who is very small.

everyone got really, really srsly drunkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

tom from fight like apes gave me some salvia on sunday afternoon and i have no memory of anything after that until i woke up fully clothed in my own bed the next day, with the neighbours complaining of a bunch of noisy irish lads outside my house in the small hours. this is an improvement on last time i hung out with apes and woke up in basingstoke.

anyway, here is a video jun made. i seem to have spent most of the weekend trying to convince people i was tom from theditors. i dont know why, it seemed hella funny at the time.

  1. [...] here’s this one from your favorite Birmingham indie pop titans as they descend upon the Hop Farm festival. As you can see, much silliness ensues. In fact, we’ve watched this three times and [...]
