herein lies some words and pictures and video for this ace tour we did in spring 2009. we invited some friends to come and play to so we could watch them every night, their bands being aces and teh future etc. these them:
we also had a 4 person crew, thanks be to mr lea room, mrs to be vicky lea room, martin who does sound and forgets things, and tex (his name is adam, i don’t know either) who sells our merch and keeps us all entertained. this is probly the official debut of Bertha The Lovely Machine Van, she relaces maddy. oh bertha, why can’t you make some drop down tv screens? or a window made of pillow?

a guy comes and takes us out for photographs. abandond stations, old bridges, s’ quite fun to do a photoshoot that doesnt involve someone suggesting hey, why don’t you pretend there’s a ghost there, right? shame he never sent the photos. gig is a bit, meh. despite lovely promotor man giving us icebucket gin and 7million pizzas, the atmospheres kinda flat and some stupid cokehead girls try rob kellys tamborine before the show and my mic stand when ever im not touching it. s’pretty depressing, really. at least they liked our band. or maybe they just learned th words to psyche us out.

Super Tennis = aces, Youves we know from back home, everyone had fun, i fancy everyone who lives in kingston etcrahhhh, and we’re continually greatful to banquet for treating us so well. there was loads of people, we tried to get them to say “johnny foreigner are having fun” to the camera but it sounds like “are fun” which is pretty egotistical. so don’t judge us on audio alone..
if any band ever tells you they don’t steal their merch boxes from tk maxx in kingston, then they are liars. the black ones are slightly deeper but just as practical. on a side note, can anyone tell us where dave gilmour of being in pink floyd fame keeps his studio houseboat? i thought it was liek, opposite the club but its sailed off (orf?) somewhere…

hurry hurry work work. kelly gets entranced by icecream and misses an interview so we make up lies about her. idlewild show is very nice, super big dancey crowd, but we got pulled off halfway thru the night was running late. AND some poxy venue staff stole our biggest bottle of gin. SRSLY the honey club officially has a vendetta against us and our gin. but then some kind guys found us after with a new bottle which was quarter the size but still absolutely not their fight at all and thus a moment of Pure Human Kindness that kept us warm on th way home. aaaaaaaaahhhhhh. THANKS GUYSSSSSSSSS! still, oh dear.

vickys dad built a house and kindly let us spend the night in it. BUILT A HOUSE! he skimped a bit on th last set of stairs but everything else was lushhh. especially above swivel-window. we always sleep with guitars next to us on tour. not for creative reasons, they’re just handy props when explaining to strangers what yr doing asleep in their house.

this was a bit of an experimental. i hope people thought, wow a free johnny foreigner show, not WUT NO SUPPORTS, but we got offered it and we played and it was dead fun. some homemade music blog wrote a review of this show only papered it with lies. we now officially have stalker girls who shout what they love about us inbetween songs. I LOVE YR ARMS! I LOVE YR HAIR! it beats actual heckling but its harder to stop.

i used to go to my grandparents house every sunday for dinner, we’d get their just before hand, sit around for a bit, eat a proper sunday roast, and stay a few hours till the bloaty feeling went away. fibbers always reminds me of this. i dont know why but its a happy memory so i don’t question it. nice wine, fibbers, thank you!

newport rock city! tiny venue with plently of alcohols and a free sit down curry. worst equipped stage we’ve ever had, but makes little difference to fun had. i sing some of a copy haho song, i even get more than half the words right. take train to cardiff after, get asked for autograph whilst trying to decant gin bottles. IS GOOD LIFE KTHX.
i regret not being part of th final drunkeness. i ran away to the seaside. i had fun but no camera = didnt happen.
